Went to see Derek Acorah at Felixstowe theatre with some friends at the end of Sept 05. Found him very funny on Most Haunted, and thought we'd go see him live. If you take him at face value, he is very very good - scarily accurate and convincing. If you are a sceptic - like my husband! then it's all a pre-planned act. He'd like to know if the messages are the same in different towns.
I have a very open mind, and though I do confess to believing in ghosts as I have close family members who have had experience, I'm not sure about mediumship. I'd like to believe. I have to admit, I was secretly half hoping Derek would be contacted by my beloved nana who died about the same time I fell pregnant. Unsurprisingly, it didn't happen - though I'm not sure if I'm more relieved or disappointed! But it has made me think. Derek was very good..... but....
Long discussions about Derek's show ensued after (in the pub) but no decision - real or clever fake? - could be reached.
Do I brave going to see a medium to see if I can decide once and for all? They are quite expensive and there are fraudsters out there so how do I find a good one? Is it all fake? Is it just opening can of worms? Are some things just best left alone?I seem to be goimg round in circles... though I would recommend Derek even if it's just a different and interesting night out.
